Dealing with Violence in Society

There is so much violence in our society. The statistics show how many homes
are ravaged by domestic violence. Its negative impact is rocking the  core of
human society where almost two in five are suffering from depression, stress
and anxiety etc. In this talk, you will learn how to detect, pause, remedy and
prevent this problem and save our society from violence and educate to live
mindfully in peace, kindness, tolerance and compassion. This talk will be of
interest to all and especially people who work in health industry, education,
psychology, therapy and humane profession of helping others. Rinpoche’s
sharp discourse can awaken the good that lie dormant in you.

9.00am- 5.00pm Saturday 3 May
Heart Sutra Teaching and Practices
The Heart Sutra is one of the most important Mahayana Buddhist text
containing the synthesis of 16 volume teaching on the Perfection of Wisdom. It
is  not only a daily personal prayer and meditation but no Buddhist ceremony
from Far east Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, Tibet, Bhutan, Ladakh and many
central Asian Republics begin until the Heart Sutra is read. It is inscribed on
rocks, gold plates and plaques. Receiving comprehensive teaching and
transmission is a tradition that is only preserved in Tibetan Buddhism. So, it is
very auspicious that one will receive the teachings and transmission on Heart
Sutra from Rinpoche in one whole day. Insight meditation is an attempt to
meditate on the contents of Heart Sutra. Merely watching sensation on the
nostril is not insight meditation. Insight meditation reveals the realisation of
the truth that excel all truths, the essence of Buddha’s Perfection of wisdom
(Prajnaparamita). All are welcome.

9.00am-5.00pm Sunday 4 May
Empowerment of Avalokiteshvara and Meditation on Great Compassion
The Buddha of Compassion is known as Avalokiteshvara or in some places as
Kuan Yin. In either case, both of them represent great compassion which is the
essence of practising mindfulness.
To practice its sacred six syllable mantra OM MANI PAD ME HUM as one’s
meditation or as a prayer that one can do to remedy sadness, anxiety, worry
and all emotional problems caused by death, sickness and loss, one should
receive the empowerment and transmission of great compassion from an
authentic and unbroken lineage of the practice. In Tibetan Buddhism, this is a
must.

In this one day event, one will not only receive the empowerment and
transmission of the practice but one will receive detail teachings on the
practice and learn how to apply it in many difficult situations one may face in
life. It is for the living, dying and the dead. Compassionate mantra can help you
in a big way. That is why this sacred mantra is not only on the lips of
practitioners but are inscribed on rocks and mountains across the Himalayas.
